So after all that work trying to emulate someone else's style I was reminded my character had an ostentatious hat that kept falling off....so I sat down and drew a new avatar in about 2 hours.  I'm going to just stick with my own deal from now I think :)

Finally.  I'm not satisfied by a long shot, if I keep up the drawing I'm hoping to improve past something that looks like a 7th grader did it but then again I learned a lot making this.  I was forced to change arm position, draw a new hand (as opposed to the claw you see in the first pic) and actually spent a couple of hours free drawing my hand, I'm still have more pride in that then my toon here because I did it from scratch.  Anyway I'm going to try and continue to get my shapes down so I am not hampered by templates and then it's on to anatomy and perspective, shading....sheesh, so much.  For now I'm taking a short break though...be back

Been drawing non stop, trying to create my character.  I've also been practicing circles, lines, etc...beginners stuff.  Sad to say I still need to trace some things, after all I want my character to look good, I'm going for a Bruce Timm style toon here.  I ended up using a template (ducks at hurled stones and pitchforks) and then running wih it from there, I'm posting what I have so far.  I had to change the arm position, the hand, I did the hair (simple style anyway, I spent 2 days drawing hair of all types, it's been like that, I spent today drawing rocks) and got the whole rock ripped out of the ground thing going, that was a pain, I had
